COLE SCROGHAM

Founder of Madison Automotive Apprentices, dedicated to educating and preparing future automotive enthusiasts and advocates. 4-time overall national Concours winner and Restoration specialist with the Porsche brand, 8-time Champion team owner in Motorsport competition and wins at all major tracks in North America. Master’s Degree in Public Administration from James Madison University.

Recent JMU Engineering alumni, PCA concours group award winner and third wave coffee enthusiast.

CLAIRE WAYAND

Media & Design Manager and recent graduate of JMU with a BFA in Graphic Design. Designs all web and print materials, social media posts, invitations, posters and brochures. Claire loves to play volleyball, workout, draw and bake in her free time. She enjoys traveling and loves to experience the language, culture and food of different countries.

INTERNS:

RACHAEL FROST
Junior engineering student on the Shell Eco-Marathon Drivetrain Capstone team. I have an interest in motorsport racing and would love to know more about becoming involved in that industry. I’ve had some basic experience working on cars but I’m excited to know the systems generally to be able to apply that knowledge to more specific cases. Other than that, I love being outdoors, hiking, and playing sports.

Automotive intern, JMU Engineering major, with Math, and Business minors. Previous 1973 Volkswagen Super Beetle and 1983 Yamaha Virago owner from Charlottesville VA.

2019-2020 MAAP Intern, pursuing a passion for automotive engineering. Fundamental experience in vehicle data acquisition systems, member of the JMU SuperMileage Data Acquisition Team competing in the Shell EcoMarathon. Junior Engineering Major and Business Minor.

Professor of History, faculty advisor to Madison Motorsports student organization, Coordinator Science, Technology & Society minor. Teaching & research areas include: history of American automobile cultures, social history of American technology, & public history.

ALEX SMITH

Former Vice President for Development for Collegiate School in Richmond, First place winner for Direct Mail from CASE in 1981, multiple awards from CASE in ’80, ’81, ’84, ’87, ’89. Past President of the Porsche Club of America – Shenandoah Region. Raised over $167 million for seven capitol campaigns at Collegiate School and MAAP board member.

BILL WYATT

Director of Communications and University Spokesperson for James Madison University as well as a graduate of the JMU Masters of Public Administration. He is an avid NASCAR fan and lives in Harrisonburg with his wife and six children.

LYNNE WEIKART

Received her Ph.D from Colombia in Political Science, current practitioner-in-residence at JMU, Author of 2 books.
